Dutch archaeology exhibition kicks off in National Museum

 A collection of the works of Dutch Archaeology and Art Highlights from the Drents Museum were put on display in National Museum in Tehran on Tuesday.

In the inauguration ceremony Dutch Ambassador to Iran Jacques Werner, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance for Art Affairs Mojtaba Hosseini, Vice-President and Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Ali Asghar Monessen and Foreign Ministry Director General for public diplomacy Ali Pakdaman were present.

The exhibition showcased 331 ceramic and metal pots, stone tools, jewelry, human mummies and the paint works and ceramics from the Netherlands, that date as back as the 19th and 20th centuries.

The fair will be open from October 2, 2018, to April 6, 2019.

Drents Museum located in the city of Assen in north of the Netherlands and it has 160 years old.

According to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Iran National Museum and Drents Museum, 196 works from 70 ancient places of Iran are in display in the Netherlands from June 16 , 2017 to November 18, 2018, under the title of ‘Iran: Land of Civilization’.

A similar exhibition is to be held in British Museum as well, but arrangements for the purpose are not made yet.
