‘Alphabet’ wins nomination at American festival

Iranian short animated movie ‘Alphabet’, directed by Kianoush Abedi, was nominated for an award at the US 2018 Revolution Me Film Festival.

The six-minute animated film narrates the story of people who have forgotten life, do not have sound knowledge and fail to know about the truth, Mehr News Agency reported.

It depicts a nation that has forgotten the alphabet of life and cannot see, hear or speak.

Revolution Me Film Festival, a non-profit organization, wants the new emerging filmmakers to come together and change the world.

The event is designed to showcase ideas ‘at point’ in contemporary independent films and find a place for them in a conservative cinema and social environment.

The event, which kicked off on Friday, will wrap up in a closing ceremony on September 23, 2018.

‘Alphabet’ has so far participated in some international fests and won a number of awards, including the Award for the Best Short Film at the fifth Festival Sayulita in Mexico and the Best Experimental and Animation Award at the sixth Speechless Film Festival.

It has also received accolades from the 15th Southside Film Festival in the US and the fifth edition of Tripoli Film Festival in Lebanon.
